Dear Samakee Community,

We want to thank you for attending last night’s Welcome Evening. It was a pleasure to meet so many of you, and we hope you found the evening informative and encouraging as we embark on this new school year together.

At our school, we firmly believe that parents are vital partners in their child’s educational journey. Your involvement and support are essential to our collective success, and we are committed to fostering a strong, open line of communication between home and school. We encourage you to connect with our teachers throughout the year—whether to ask questions, share concerns, or celebrate your child’s achievements. Our teachers are here to support your child every step of the way!

We are committed to ensuring a successful and enriching school year for all, and we look forward to working closely with you to achieve this goal.

After School Club Fair

The Samakee After School Club Fair for parents and children will be held on Monday, September 2nd, at the end of the school day, in both the hall and lobby areas. We invite you and your child to drop by and personally explore the clubs/ECAs being offered this term. Please take the opportunity to engage in conversations with the club leaders to gather more information and plan your child’s choices for this term!

Teaching and Learning Highlights!

EYFS – Butterfly Collage

Look at this amazing butterfly collage! Our little artist was inspired by The Hungry Caterpillar and had a big vision for his artwork. He planned, created, and persevered through it all!

Reception – Music Class

The ‘Apple Tree’ singing game was a big hit in our Reception music class! We played it several times, and then the children were invited to play the xylophone to accompany their singing. Brilliant effort, everyone!

Year 4 – Sukhothai script

Year 4 is starting this year with the topic of the Timeline of Thai History. The children have been learning about the first kingdom, Sukhothai, and the first Thai script, known as ‘ลายสือไทย’ or the Sukhothai script. They wrote some information about themselves using the Sukhothai script on a paper inscription. We hope that someone in the future will find this and know who we were!

Year 5 – Samakee Farm

Our Year 5 students are having a blast learning how to use Loppers safely in Forest School! They’re cutting down some bamboo to feed our goats or create their own “new tool.” It’s so important to learn how to use tools responsibly. Can you guess what tool they’ll be using next week?

Year6/7 – Science Lab Safety

Recently, we explored the proper and safe use of science lab equipment! Our science lab is full of amazing tools that help us explore the wonders of the world around us. However, to make sure we use them properly and safely, it’s important to understand a few key rules and techniques. In this lesson, we learned how to handle equipment like chemical samples, beakers, and Bunsen burners with care. We reviewed the correct way to measure liquids, how to use glassware without accidents, and the importance of wearing safety goggles and lab coats. By the end of the class, we knew how to set up experiments safely, follow procedures carefully, and to make sure our lab stays a fun and safe environment for everyone.

Upper School – Triangular Numbers

Year 6 and 7 are unraveling the mysteries of triangular numbers! They had a blast creating number sequences and spotting intriguing patterns. At Samakee, learning is all about exploring and questioning, not just memorizing. Our learners are loving the journey while they discover the magic of maths!

Awards and Achievements

Middle SchoolGrowth Mindset Master

For returning to school with lots of enthusiasm and for trying his best with his learning.

Upper School – Theme of the week – Challenge

Upper School were left with the affirmation “YES I CAN” ringing in their ears in this week’s assembly on our theme – Challenge. Overcoming challenges is a fundamental part of personal growth and development. It’s through these obstacles that we discover our strengths, build resilience, and develop the skills necessary to succeed in life. Some students even volunteered to be challenged in assembly!

Congratulations to our Upper School students whose achievements were celebrated in assembly this week.
